The following instructions outline the general usage of this treatment:
- Wash your hands before and after use
- Check that the seal is not broken before first use.
- For external haemorrhoids, apply the cream directly to the affected area.
- For internal haemorrhoids, screw the applicator nozzle onto the tube and smear some of the cream on the outside of the nozzle to ease the application. Carefully insert the applicator into the opening of the anus. Gently squeeze the tube whilst slowing withdrawing the nozzle so that the cream moves gently up the anus.
- Replace the cap after user and always keep the tube of cream, cap and nozzle clean.
Side Effects
As with all medicines, this haemorrhoid treatment can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.
It is rare, but you may experience an increase to local irritation at the site of application after applying the cream. If you experience this or have a bad reaction to the cream, stop using this treatment and inform your doctor or pharmacist straight away.

Germoloids Cream contains two key ingredients: zinc oxide, which helps to shrink swollen tissue and protect sore skin, and lidocaine, a local anaesthetic that helps to numb pain, itching, and discomfort. It provides fast, soothing relief from the symptoms of haemorrhoids (piles) and can also help the affected area heal. The cream can be used both externally and internally.

Ingredients
The active substances are zinc oxide (6.6% w/w) and lidocaine hydrochloride (0.7% w/w).
The other ingredients are emulsifying wax, white soft paraffin, methyl salicylate, methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218), butyl hydroxybenzoate and water. See end of Section 2 for methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218) advice.
