About the product

Dermatix Gel is a topical silicone gel used to improve the appearance of scars, including those from surgery, injury, burns, or acne. It works by forming a transparent, protective layer over the scar, which helps to hydrate the skin, regulate collagen production, and reduce redness, itching, and discomfort. With regular use, Dermatix Gel can help soften, flatten, and fade both new and existing scars. The quick-drying, non-greasy formula is suitable for use on exposed areas such as the face, neck, and joints. It is applied twice daily and can be used under makeup or sunscreen for discreet scar management.

Overview

Dermatix is an advanced silicone-based scar treatment gel designed to improve the appearance of both new and existing scars. This transparent, self-drying gel creates a protective layer that helps flatten, soften, and reduce discoloration of various scar types, including hypertrophic and keloid scars. Dermatix uses clinically proven silicone technology to normalise collagen production in scarred tissue. Unlike many other treatments, Dermatix is non-greasy, odorless, and dries quickly, making it convenient for daily use on visible and non-visible scars.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question ? we’re here to help

How long should I use Dermatix for?

Dermatix should be used consistently for a minimum of 8-12 weeks, though many users continue treatment for 3-6 months for maximum benefit. New scars typically respond faster than older, more established scars. Visible improvement usually begins after about 4-8 weeks of regular use. Continue using Dermatix until you achieve satisfactory results, as recommended by healthcare professionals. For older scars (over 2 years), longer treatment periods may be necessary. The treatment duration varies depending on individual healing factors and scar characteristics.

When should Dermatix gel not be used?

Dermatix should not be applied to open wounds, unhealed skin, or active skin infections. Wait until your wound has completely healed and any stitches have been removed before starting treatment. People with known sensitivity or allergy to silicone should avoid using Dermatix. Consult a healthcare provider before use if you have unusual skin conditions in the treatment area. Dermatix is for external use only and should be kept away from mucous membranes including eyes, inside of nose, and mouth.

Can Dermatix be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women?

Dermatix contains silicone polymers that work locally on the skin with minimal systemic absorption, making it generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, as with any product used during these periods, it’s advisable to consult with your healthcare provider before starting treatment. When using Dermatix while breastfeeding, avoid applying it to areas that may come into direct contact with the baby, or ensure it’s completely dry before skin-to-skin contact to prevent ingestion.

Directions

To apply Dermatix effectively, ensure the scarred area is clean and completely dry. Squeeze a small pea-sized amount of gel directly onto your fingertip and spread it in a thin, even layer over the scar. Allow Dermatix to dry for 4-5 minutes before covering with clothing or applying cosmetic products. For optimal results, apply Dermatix twice daily – once in the morning and once in the evening. Consistent application is crucial for effectiveness, so incorporate it into your daily skincare routine for best results.

Side Effects

Dermatix is well-tolerated by most users, with side effects being rare and usually mild. Some people may experience temporary skin irritation, redness, or itching at the application site. These reactions typically subside as your skin adjusts to the treatment. In rare cases, contact dermatitis may occur if you have sensitivity to silicone. If you experience persistent irritation, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider. To minimise potential reactions, always apply Dermatix to completely clean, dry skin.
