Overview

Allevia Hives is an antihistamine medication containing fexofenadine hydrochloride 180mg, specifically designed to treat the symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives). This non-drowsy formula helps relieve itching, redness, and skin welts caused by allergic reactions. Allevia Hives provides 24-hour relief from uncomfortable hive symptoms, allowing you to go about your daily activities without disruption.

Directions

The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over is one tablet daily. This could be taken with water before a meal and should start to relieve your symptoms with one hour.

If the symptoms of allergic skin reactions persist, or gets worse or other symptoms appear, you should stop the treatment and consult a doctor.

Side Effects

The common side effects include:

• fatigue

How it works

Allevia Hives contains fexofenadine, a second-generation antihistamine that blocks histamine H1 receptors in the body. When you have hives, your body releases histamine, which causes itching, swelling, and redness. By preventing histamine from binding to these receptors, Allevia Hives effectively reduces these allergic symptoms without causing significant drowsiness, unlike older antihistamines.

Ingredients

Allevia Hives contains 180mg of fexofenadine hydrochloride as the active ingredient. Inactive ingredients include microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, maize starch, colloidal anhydrous silica, and magnesium stearate. The film coating contains hypromellose, povidone, titanium dioxide (E171), colloidal anhydrous silica, macrogol 400, and iron oxide (E172).
