Aciclovir Cream is an antiviral treatment used to manage cold sores caused by the herpes simplex virus. Cold sores typically appear as small, fluid-filled blisters around the lips and mouth, often triggered by stress, illness, or sun exposure. The cream works by preventing the virus from multiplying, helping to speed up healing and reduce discomfort such as itching, burning, and pain.
It is most effective when applied at the first sign of symptoms, such as tingling or redness. Aciclovir Cream is applied directly to the affected area several times a day, usually for up to five days, until the cold sore heals.
