Directions
To use Lyclear 5% Dermal Cream for head lice, apply the cream to dry hair, ensuring that the entire scalp and hair are fully covered. The cream should be left on the hair and scalp for a full 8 hours (usually overnight) before washing it out. A single application is often sufficient, but the treatment can be repeated after 14 days if live lice are still observed
Side Effects
The side effects of Lyclear 5% Dermal Cream are generally mild and uncommon, but may include:

Lyclear 5% Dermal Cream contains permethrin, an insecticide that kills head lice and their eggs (nits). It works by attacking the nervous system of the lice, causing them to become paralysed and die. The cream is applied to dry hair and scalp, left on for the recommended time, and then rinsed out. A second application is often needed after 7 days to kill any newly hatched lice.

Ingredients
The active substance is Permethrin (5% w/w).
The other ingredients are coconut oil, glyceryl monostearate, macrogol cetyl ether, cetomacrogol 1000, isopropyl myristate, lanolin alcohols/liquid paraffin mixture, butylated hydroxytoluene (E321), glycerol, formaldehyde solution, carbomer, sodium hydroxide and purified water.
Warnings
You should not use Lyclear Dermal Cream if you are allergic to Permethrin, other pyrethrins or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Lyclear Dermal Cream:
- If you are treating infants
- If you are known to be allergic to chrysanthemums or other compositae – you should only use Lyclear Dermal Cream after speaking to your doctor.
