Ovex Family Pack contains mebendazole, an antiparasitic medicine used to treat threadworm (pinworm) infections. Threadworms are small intestinal worms that cause itching around the anus, particularly at night. Mebendazole works by preventing the worms from absorbing the sugars they need to survive, which kills them over several days. The family pack provides enough single-dose treatment for multiple household members, as threadworm infections spread easily. Everyone in the home is usually treated at the same time, even if they have no symptoms, to prevent reinfection. Good hygiene practices should be followed alongside treatment to fully clear the infection.

The active ingredient in this medication is Mebendazole.
The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycollate, talc, maize starch, sodium saccharin, magnesium stearate, cottonseed oil – hydrogenated, orange flavour, colloidal anhydrous silica, sodium laurilsulfate and orange yellow S (E110).
Warnings
You should not use Ovex Family Pack For Threadworm Infection if you have ever had a bad reaction to any of the ingredients, if it is for a child under 2 years, or if you are pregnant or think you are pregnant.
Also, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines including:
- Metronidazole (a drug used to treat bacterial and protozoan infections) as a serious skin reaction can rarely occur.
- Cimetidine (a medicine used to treat excess stomach acidity).
